about

With headphones clamped firmly over his ears and a guitar resting lovingly across his lap, Aaron Molho has spent most of his adult life within the confines of his labrotory of cables, tubes, strings, ink and beer. But on "Six Strings and A Microphone," this musical hermit finally lets us into his private world of raw vocal poetry. In a fitting first break from his historical reclusiveness, this encompassing album pulls songs from over a decade of Aaron's work -- adding complexity to the simple instrumentation of the release. As the title suggests, Aaron employs no gimmicks -- surprising you only with his unique and shockingly rich singing voice. Though the Beck-like-eclectic artist has worked on more intricately orchestrated and produced music with several notable musicians including Zach Hill (Drummer of Hella) and Foley (Miles Davis, Sly Stone, George Clinton, Prince), Aaron strikes out on his own for this bold, raw release -- giving us an intimate taste of his spellbinding live acoustic performances. The opening track "I Will Always Be Here" should pull your heart strings as Aaron paints a nuanced, realistic view of love that "puts the listener in his shoes" (Phillip Fray, DJ KDVS Radio). In contrast, the sparkling dedications of warmth expressed in "Sara" and "High" may project cinematic scenes of romance onto your mind's eye. Though hints of Jeff Buckley, Paul Simon, Radiohead and John Lennon all make their way into these songs, you may yet be surprised with Aaron’s distinct command over the guitar and his signature vocal musings.

I Will Always Be Here

All the dreams that I've suffered
that have clouded by path
I've been mighty ungrateful
for the life that I've had

For what was I waiting?
frozen and cold
Won't you warm me up darling
Before I'm too old

So forgive me my darling for the trouble I've caused
I didn't mean to cut you with these clumsy old claws
With the Sun as my witness, I promise you dear
If you ever need someone, I will always be here

All the plans I had laid out
all the hopes in my head
made me strangely suspicious
of her magical bed

What a fool I have been
what a stubborn old one
Couldn't see her sweet smile
as the prize to be won

So forgive me my darling for the trouble I've caused
I didn't mean to cut you with these clumsy old claws
With the Sun as my witness, I promise you dear
If you ever need someone, I will always be here

Many dark days I've battled
many scoundrels I've known
that I boarded up my heart
just to weather the storm

I'm not making excuses
but I hope you can see
why giving my heart to you
was a struggle for me

So forgive me my darling for the trouble I've caused
you know you're an angel for forgiving my flaws
So with the Sun as my witness, I promise you dear
If you ever need someone, I will always be here

I will love and protect you for all of my years.

Another Prom Queen Moved to Hollywood
Still she was one of a kind
But all the hustlers and attitudes
Bled her of the innocence that made her shine

And you think that you know how it feels
To be used for youth over beers

Oh, have they had enough?
Oh, has she had enough?

Cause she used to be beautiful
She used to turn heads on the strip
And she still turning heads
Now she's turning them away instead

No one denied the talent or the voice
Of that seasoned troubadour
But his rare and style made him a risky choice
For the suits who already knew what they were looking for

And I don't think that I know how he feels
To be an artist ignored by his peers
Oh have they had enough
Oh has he had enough

He used to be beautiful
He used to write songs in his sleep
And he's still writing songs
Yeah he's writing them in the streets

Bridge:

There's no one to blame
They all played their part
Cause it's plain see
how dying weeds
eventually
Feed the Flower seeds

'Cause they want to be beautiful
They want to have dreams of their own
And they still have dreams
But they're keeping them up at night

They used to be beautiful
They used to have dreams of their own
And they still have dreams
But they're keeping them to themselves.
